  1. Role-Play Mania v2.0

Yes!! We did it again!!! The last to post thread has turned into a role-play again. Not a big suprise though. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Right, Since the last version of this game transformed into a giant Roleplay of free-script. I am making a new version for everyone who wanted to play it. Name says it all. The last to post, wins. That said.
  2. The Happy Birthday Thread

Sorry I'm late. Hey guys, still alive. Just coming back to say Thank you to Skye and Geoffrey for the Birthday wishes. ^^   I'm doing fine, thankfully haven't contracted the bug yet if you catch my drift, just hanging about and playing games.   Due in no small part to my own faults of being so easily distracted by everything, even now I still haven't gotten the time to get back to work on my own project with Sonic. I never stopped thinking about it, the only issue being I can't seem to stop thinking about it to actually write something into it...That seems to actually be my main issue with a lot of projects now that I think on it. XD   But yes, I hope you lot are havin a nice time here, hope everyone's ok, and healthy. Know that, though I can't say I'm here still. I'm here in spirit.   PS. Read a little of the new Sonic comics, my personal opinion so far: Not bad, but hasn't quite reached Archie's level yet.
  3. I was inspired to make this possible bit of hilarity when looking at topics in Gamefaqs.   The rule of this game is fairly simple: Create a post-by-post continuing narrative involving Sonic, but with a limit of 7 words per post or less. Why 7? Because 7's apparently a magical number in this series. 7 Chaos Emeralds, for instance.   For example:         You can use any character, make any scenario, but only in 7 words. You don't even have to complete sentences; all else fails, you can just make an incomplete sentence and let someone else fill in the blank.   My only restriction is to keep it clean, and that it has to be a continuation from one post to the other.   With that said: I'll start us off.   Sonic was doing his usual run in...
  4. The Happy Birthday Thread

Much like last year, though I'm still a bit of ghost here. Thought I'd come back to give my gratitude to you all for remembering. One of my new year's resolution is to get crap done so that I can get back here ASAP. ...A Resolution I probably had last year too, but...well...     Anyways, Thank you all for the birthday wishes.
  5. The Happy Birthday Thread

While technically I'm supposed to keep myself away from here until my projects are done with...Eh, I suppose one post to say thank you wouldn't hurt.   So Thanks everyone, I appreciate it. ^_^
  6. Imagine a Movie...

As I've mentioned before, I've decided to perform an experiment testing one's skill in Mental Imagery, and from it, testing one's skill with music I suppose. I placed it here because it does technically have to do with character themselves, rather than story lines. Music nowadays, Have an atmosphere to such a point where we can fantasize through it. It's the case with silent movies, where you only need to hear the music and watch it play out with nothing else. With so many different kinds of music and genres and quality, the Various atmospheres you can give to influence mental imagery is nearly limitless. It's why I'm good at Theme Song Finding. That being said. I'd like to test your mental imagery through music, in this very simple way: Pretend your character is in a movie. Pretend this movie's main protagonist can be ANY of your characters. I want you to list off your character's journey, scene by scene, through music. You don't need to give an explanation or explain the scene in your way if you don't wish to. Sometimes the Music is all one needs to make an impression on the mind. That being said, the Scenes and what they mean are fixed. It's more how your character would react in them. However, I am allowing slight changes in scenes, like, maybe two or three scenes. But other than that, they're fixed. Think of it this way. Pretend you're the director, the guy producing the soundtrack to your movie, the movie involving your character is sick, or got in an accident, or is just ditching. So if you want something done right, do it yourself. So you decide to pick a song that you feel fits the scene at hand. It can be either Vocal or Instrumental, Music you hear in a band, or music you hear in an actual movie. Basically, whatever song you pick is allowed, and up to you. Now with that said: Here's the list of scenes, I too will be making my own soundtrack for this. Character Name- Opening: Waking up/Going to School: Rival Battle/Rival's Theme: School Meyhem: A talk with the boy/girl of your dreams: The Chase/Rival strikes again: Search for Truth/A talk with your Parent/Guardian: Revelations: The Journey: First act of Heroism: The aftermath/Thank you: Finding a Mentor: A tale of ancient gods: The Introduction of a Mentor: The Training: Returning Home: Vigilantism: Going too far/Out of Control Hero: "I've created a Monster!": Hindsight of damage done: Resolution and Redemption: One last battle with the Rival: The Final Battle: Aftermath/Funeral for the those loss in the disaster: Reconstruction: The Ending Message/The rise of a true hero: Credits:
  7. Character Chest FAQ

Hello there. Welcome to the Character Chest. I can tell some of you are somewhat confused as to why this exists. So I'm establishing this FAQ to explain. Let's start with the most obvious... Why is this here? What's the purpose of this place? To put it simply, there are some people like myself who take great pride in our created characters whenever they may show up. As such, there are times where you would want to show them off, perhaps let people give criticism of what to do to make them better, pointing out any problems that the character may have so that you can correct them. Sometimes it's not about pride but sheer convenience. You can bring them here and all general information will be recorded here so you don't have to repeat every time you put the character in an RP. This is here for those people and for that reason. What's the difference, if any, between making a Character sheet here, and making a character sheet in an OOC? Mostly the difference is in detail. An RPs CS sheet is not designed for a lot of details about the person. It just gives a summary of who they are, and what they're like. The profiles on here, are more designed to tell about your character in explicit detail, and as a result, are much larger in size and asks for much more things. It's also designed for showing the character specifically, not how he'll be in an RP. Can this be used for official characters, or just Original/"Fan-made" ones? Just Original/Fan-made stuff. This is not a place for Sega or Archie's characters, this is for OUR characters. Nobody needs to see already made characters in GREAT detail. Especially in a place like this where all the comics of Sonic and Megaman are at your fingertips. Can this serve to replace Character sheets used in RPs? No. This serves to be useful for the general stuff around the character. quite helpful when one wants to learn more about them. But the thing is, An RP's CS is dependent on the RP itself, and adapts to whatever RP is made at the time. As such, Things may be added to the Profile of an RP that isn't shown in these kind of profiles, and somethings you might want to tone down or not use for the sake of the RPs, such as limitations and restrictions that only that RP has. Here's a way to put it, A CS in an RP is like a Job Application, while a Profile is like a biography. Exactly how much detail are we talking here? Personally, I'm very laid-back when it comes to length. But I will say that if you're going to do this, you got to put effort into it. So I'd say give some details for things, like why they are what they are, and perhaps a paragraph in the Personality and Backstory department. What if it's incomplete, and something I'm working on, but don't have a lot of time to do so? Post that as well. Again, you have to put at least SOME effort into it, I don't want to see just the name, age, or anything that basic and then nothing else. But if you're almost done with it, you can post it, and maybe edit it later. But do inform us that's it's incomplete. So that way you can basically avoid people telling you what you're missing and that you should fill them out. Believe me, a warning before hand will evade a lot of annoyance in the long run. What exactly will be critiqued? Well, anything that seems off really. Obviously nothing ridiculous to critique should be really critiqued, like what the person likes, dislikes, or favorite foods. However, I personally, will be looking out for grammar and spelling, as well as questionable holes in the backstory, and I'll definitely criticize if I see a Personality that's without any effort (Using different words, but no sentences, for instance.) But I think the main area that's going to get A LOT of criticism is the powers and abilities. Even though they're not in an RP, they should still be treated as if they were in one. A character your making a Profile of, after all, IS a character you would use in an RP, right? As such, The rules of God-modding and impossibly powerful abilities still stand here. If I'm "criticizing" does that mean I can openly insult the character? [media=] Look, contrary to what you may believe, especially after seeing reviewers like AVGN and the Nostalgia Critic, the purpose of criticism isn't to bash something for being bad. It's to call them out on the bad things, and explain why they're bad, so that the author or maker can get better from them. Saying something "It sucks" or "This is a horrible character" isn't criticism. You have to explain why it sucks, why it's horrible character, so that the person who made it can make it suck less and make it NOT a horrible character. Yes, I know there some who can't get it through their heads and not learn, but even still, if they don't want to learn, then we won't teach them. ...That said... I don't want to have/don't like Criticism! Tough. No one's perfect. We all have a sense of Pride in our characters, believe me, I understand that. But the fact is when you're making something like this, unless you're either very confident in knowing what you're is like and balance of it, or have experience in it before like myself and Geoffrey, and even then, chances are, there's going to be some mistakes, or questionable things. As long as there are, there will be people critiquing your stuff. While you may be able to defend your stuff, if those defenses on them don't hold water, the critic will probably win the argument. You just got to man up and take those criticisms to heart. Think of it this way, Critics are a GOOD thing, They critique because and tell their opinion because they care, and want to see what they critique perfected. That's why Reviewers and Critics exist. Somebody taking a criticism, however harsh it may be, is better than someone who says no opinion because they have no hope for it. Ignorance is not bliss here. You gotta suck it up and deal with Critics, because there will always be people who review whatever you make and critique them for the rest of your life. You can't handle it here, how are you going to handle it in the long-run of your life? ...That's about every question I can come up with at the top of my head. I'll give this place a Profile sheet as soon as I can. However, if there's any other questions, feel free to tell them here.
  8. Role-playing rules.

Ok, so before we begin with the Role-plays, I'd like to add in some rules. Just some general ones that one can add to if they wish. Role-plays are suppose to be fun and entertaining. But sadly, it's easy to spoil that fun if no rules are set into place to keep people from ruining the fun of others. For the sake of not overdoing or underwhelming this list, I'll be copying from another site I know of the rules of RPing. With that said, let's begin. 1. No God-modding- If your character is unbelievably strong, undefeatable, and over all unstoppable, you're doing it wrong. It's ok to have strong characters, but in combat, there is no such thing as the strongest, and certainly no such thing as invincible. I'll post up a list later on of God-modding acts, just so we know what is and isn't god-modding. 2. No double/Triple posts- When you make your post to an RP, be sure you put everything into that post you wanted to. 3. Good spelling and Grammar's a must- It doesn't have to be absolutely flawless, but it can't be something like "txt tlk" either. We just want to be able to read and understand the posts. 4. No spam- We don't have a rule in length unless added by the owner of the RP. However, we would appreciate giving each post you make a little more effort than a few words. I'd say the minimum is about 30 words. 5. All General rules of the Forum Apply here- Obvious. And that's about it for the General rules. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM.
  9. First off: Contrary to what may be believed: https://youtu.be/grbSQ6O6kbs?t=58s Secondly: Happy Easter Everybody! My apologies for lack of my activity as of late. I'll try to get back into the swing of things as soon as I can, might still need some time though.

  10. The Velvet Room

  13. Your favorite Gaming Quotes.

"Doesn't matter how far apart we are. The bonds we've made will remain strong. Everyone's hearts is connected to the people they know and trust. It's those bonds that let us all search for our purpose in life. As long it's a purpose that you believe in, there will always be someone who could help you fulfill it. You, me, and everyone else, there are no barriers. Our hearts are one. Right, Sensei?" ~ Teddie, Persona 4   "To care about someone dear to you, to strengthen the bonds of friendship... That doesn't necessarily mean that the pain of living will stop. If something's precious, you don't want to lose it. If someone's dear, it's painful to part with them. Loss can hurt, but... I don't think there's anything wrong with that." ~ Aigis, Persona 3 FES   "To lose someone you had such a strong bond with is agony. But there's no need to suffer alone. You have us with you. Isn't that the whole point of forming such bonds?" ~ Mitsuru, Persona 3 FES
  14. Note to self: Sonic TPU is taking WAY longer than it should. So continue as is, but try a different approach to the series afterwards.

  15. General Zelda thread

Unfortunately, the Zelda franchise is a First-party Nintendo franchise. As such, they are, like most franchises you see in Smash Bros, and Smash Bros itself by extension, Nintendo exclusive.   In other words, the chances of a Zelda game being on anything except for Nintendo consoles is about equal to the chances of Nintendo axing off Mario.   As for me: I am a HUGE Zelda Fan. I love everything from the gameplay to the Lore of its lands and people. I haven't played all of the games in the series...Yet. But the games I have played I've beaten...Except for Skyward Sword.   These are the games I own:   - The Legend of Zelda   - Zelda II: The Adventures of Link   - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (The original)   - The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (The original)   - The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (The Gamecube Version)   - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (The Gamecube Version)   - The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword   - Hyrule Warriors   I also used to own A Link to the Past (Both the SNES and GBA versions) But I don't have them anymore sadly.   Favorite Link: It's actually difficult for me to pick which Incarnation I like the most. Every version of Link has its own characteristics and qualities that makes them an excellent variant of the character. But if I had my arm twisted to choose between them, ...I gotta say the Hero of Wind (or as he's better known: Toon Link) That version of link has a lot more freedom of expression it seems, and by extension, a lot more personality compared to the others.   Favorite Zelda: This one, actually, is not as tough. Much like Link, every Zelda has its own qualities and characteristics that makes them excellent. Again, though, I gotta go with the Wind Waker version, if only for that personality of hers.   Favorite Villain: At first it was Majora from Majora's Mask. The entity is such an enigmatic monster, that it's something worth trying to solve to figure out how it can create so much devastation. But after Hyrule Warriors, ...I gotta give my love to the demonic King of Evil himself, Ganondorf. The specific incarnation? ...You know what, I'm not bothering with that. It's the same person every time in this case, and I love every last incarnation.   Favorite Character: Hands down, Midna. I absolutely adore that little imp! Sure she's not exactly the nicest girl around, but I love her personality, and as a companion to Link, she's by far one of the most useful ones around.   Favorite Zelda Game: So difficult for me to choose. But, I gotta say Twilight Princess. Sure it doesn't have my favorite incarnation of the big 3, but I love just about every character in this game, I love the wolf mechanic, and even those Twilight areas in the beginning of the game. This game just makes me feel happy.   Least Favorite Zelda Game: Skyward Sword. ...I'm trying to like it, I really am. The story of this game is good, and so far I like all the characters. (Yes, even Fi.) But I absolutely HATE the motion controls,  and being forced to use them just....Urrgh, I'm just not a fan of them.   Favorite Weapon/Item: Not counting the Sword, (Which would be the Master Sword.) I gotta say Twilight Princess' Double Hookshot. Mostly because of just how fun it is to travel from wall to wall.   Favorite Instrument: The Wind Waker. I've always had a personal love for Maestros.   Favorite Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tb923IHkdg8
  16. Games that you recently got

I now possess Asura's Wrath... YES!
  17. Websites you visit daily

I feel that I too should update this:   Youtube GameFAQS Google Sonic Scanf Roleplayer's guild (An RP-specific forum site) Iwaku Roleplay (Another RP-specific forum site) Land of Departure (A forum made by KZX of Youtube, containing an RP section of it's own, though only one is active.) Way to Oblivion (A "Home-away-from-home" forum that serves s a hub hangout for my friends and I. Also possessing RPs a plenty, but again, only a few are actually active.) The Middle Ground (Essentially a forum designed for Fan comics, and home to some fairly good ones, including a comic made by Archie's Evan Stanley.) Channel Awesome The Spoony Experiment Atop the Fourth Wall
  18. Sonic & Mega Man: WORLDS UNITE?!

And stop their armies with the power of HOLD IT!!   And join the inevitable final climatic gang-up attack with the power of TAKE THAT!!   Anyways, my own personal opinion on what going to happen with Worlds Unite, ...Yeah, to put it simply: I predict this is going to get messy, real fast.   On the other hand, I personally enjoy a little bit of chaos. Plus, I can't quite tell you how ecstatic I am at seeing freaking Captain Vyse among the characters that will appear. If I see Ramirez or at least Galcian on the villain side in addition, ...I will probably react like this:
  19. Fan Characters (Wanna see what ya made!)

Well, I suppose drawing Teddie would be an interesting test for her.
  20. Fan Characters (Wanna see what ya made!)

As somebody who has known Oda Dex Madillo for years, I can safely say that's a nice drawing of him. You did good, Shinomi. :D
  21. The Velvet Room

In Persona 3, the Main Protagonist (Of whom I name Minato Arisato, because Makoto Yuki just sounds silly to me.) HAS to be a player if you want to get all the Social links completed.   For the record: While Yu being forever alone is probably the Canon ending, I like to Pair him with Yukiko. ^_^   I'm currently undergoing a Persona Marathon, Almost done with P3 and P4 is next.
  22. The Velvet Room

I certainly have. My reaction was pretty much the same as this guy's.
  23. Ken Penders Topic...

If what Geoffrey said is true about Sega or Archie throwing the first punch, then it's possible. ...Still, I don't believe either company are so petty/desperate as to take Penders to court for such a small 'cameo' shot. ...Now if he did this throughout his comic, that would be another story. But this one small shot, stolen as it is, I don't think is worth any court's time.
  24. Ken Penders Topic...

Which reminds me, About that little Knuckles "cameo". ...I agree that was a bad move on Ken's part. Not just for moral reasons but because it shows a lack of effort.
  25. Ken Penders Topic...

...So Geoffrey is in Ken's stories. ...I really should have saw that coming.   Well, at least the art design for him was merciful. Nothing was really added to it besides what I can only assume is a black jumpsuit with a purple vest, gloves, and boots.   Considering he has a little bit of dialogue in that image, I can't say for sure if his personality is in tact, but it at least looks a little like it is. In which case: Thank you God, there's at least ONE positive reassurance in these chronicles.
