  1. Huh...so it's a musical. Not a surprising thing for me though.

I mean, it makes sense that a movie based on a show so well-known for its songs was a musical. It's one of the best selling points of the series.

  2. Wow... That's kind of a twisted concept...

I mean, the destruction of the original Steven was probably played just for laughs, but when you think about it... They basically killed off the main character and replaced him before your very eyes...

Although, they'll probably play it safe and make the movie take place in the main cannonical universe. Makes sense that, if the show has been working so well, the creative team continued/expanded the main storyline.

  3. Are they already going to play with alternate universes? Like, why doing that if you still had to fully explore other planets' lore?

Well, at least they could start calling the show Steven Universes.

  4. Okay, I know I'm late into this, and haven't seen much of this show, but, is the movie going to be cannonical? Is it a retelling of previous episodes?

I've read that a new villain will show up, so... could it be a sequel to the series??

  5. Thanks, gurl! But we all know Buttercup's awesome, no matter who she's drawn by.

A little note that I didn't add: their hands look like that because I didn't want to separate the fingers too much, as a throwback to the "fingerless hands" the original designs had. But now that I look at them, that was a silly artistic choice...

  6. After reading issue 17...

...yep, they are zombies. I was foolish not to see that coming, as Skye said.

Still, I like the fact that "zombies" exist in some form in the Sonic universe. Truth is, it's a really overused concept, but we'll see how it's handled here. For me, so far, so good... although could be far better story-wise. Nevertheless, the character interactions are great, and the Chaotix really shine in this issue.

Tracy Yardley nails the art this time: chaotic panel layouts -yet maintaining clear visual narrative- , expressive and dynamic characters and very consistent inking. Leonardo Ito as colorist makes a remarkable job too: vibrant and eye-catching colours, but adding an intense shading to keep this "darker" atmosphere the story is going for.

Also, did I mention these comics officially made into Spain? So far we only got issue 1...

  7. Maybe it's supposed to be a test of power! Those who are able to eat the full content of the bag shall be considered as powerful!

Nah, seriously, what are those things made of?

  8. More than one month, and no one has posted any new art here? Time to change that!

Here you something sugarized, spiced that might have something nice...

OOPS, Seems I accidentally added an extra ingredient to the concoction...

The PowerPuff Girls reimagined as anime-esque characters (nothing new, I know) Still trying to get used to digital coloring. The background is a screenshot of the original TV show -so yeah, I didn't do it- and the girls themselves have some minor tweaks on their clothes (you know how much I love "minor-tweaking" already stablished desings)

  9. Oh, no... THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH IS REAL!

Actually, @Jumala, that computer-head is great looking! How about you add some old mouse or some wires as a tie? Maybe too much?

Also, I've always wondered, how do you wear that? Can you see properly with that on? Isn't it, well... uncomfortable?

  10. Awwww, if they made an anime based on my silly non-existant manga, I'd be so happy... but I'd cry tears of joy if I knew YOU WERE WATCHING IT!!

Elvira's design tries to be cute but cool, considering the story would focus on comedy and action. Still, her overall appearance ended up reminding me of other cartoon characters you might have already noticed, so to me, she now feels like a poorly made rip-off of a lot of different sources.

As you have read, I tried to make a comic out of this idea. I'd post it here, but it might need a translation to English first, I only finished the first (really short) chapter...and the art is, well... let's say "not good". (anyway, you can see part of those pages behind the character)

  11. They say an image is worth a thousand words for good reason...

That design is incredibly appealing. It works wonderfully, and the way you excepcionally have drawn his expressions only improves the already masterful artwork. Just amazing!

Does he have a background story?

  12. I think I've never shared any of my original non-Sonic characters here, so here's the first one, main character from a comic I haven't finished (and most likely never will, because I have no more than 10 pages done...):

Elvira Milfuegos, the Grilled Chicken Ninja!

Elvira is a young woman desperate to find a job. She eventually ends up working in the Chi-kin Chiken Shop, and her boss, Ramon (who asks to be called Ramen-sense) claims that Elvira has the power to command flames... and so must become the "Grilled Chicken Ninja" in order to defeat Rica Chonassi, a 10-year-old millionaire who threatens to demolish the entire district where the Chi-kin Chicken Shop is -using ultra-advanced mech suits- and build an ultra-polluting evil energy plant on its place!

But Elvira isn't alone on this insane fight... alongside her are B.G. and Lydia, the other two employees working for Ramen-sensei, who also have some special skills up their sleeves...

But before the final confrontation between the Chi-kin crew and Chonassi's forces of evil, Ramen-sensei must train Elvira in "martial arts" and fire manipulation (skill that she sort of has, but only once she absorbs enough heat)... although Elvira only wants to earn some money so that she can pay rent!

Can the Chi-kin crew stop Rica's twisted plan? Is Elvira as powerful as Ramon thinks? Will Ramen-sensei pay Elvira?!

I know, the concept it's complete madness, and the names are quite Spanish (even though the aesthetic tries to be manga-like). Worst thing is, I haven't even talked about the secondary characters and some situations the characters have to face...
